Content and Community Marketing Manager

Quizlet’s mission is to help students (and their teachers) practice and master whatever they are learning. Every month more than 50 million active learners from 130 countries practice and master more than 300 million study sets on every conceivable topic and subject. We are developing new learning experiences by modeling how students learn and by drawing upon knowledge acquisition, retention, and pedagogy in cognitive science. Quizlet’s marketing team is tasked with introducing Quizlet to the next 50 million learners (and beyond!). We work closely with product, user operations, business development and other teams to ensure that everyone who should be using Quizlet has heard about it.

The Role

As Quizlet’s content and community marketing manager, you’ll be responsible for developing a strategy and then creating content across a variety of mediums, with an end goal of engaging and inspiring our users. One day you might be writing emails to our teacher community, while another might find you leading a video project for FAQs or a new product launch. You’ll be a stickler for style and consistency, and equally happy nerding out over an editorial calendar as you are to be interviewing a teacher for a blog post. Plus, as our in-house social media lead, you’ll also develop and execute on strategies for Quizlet’s social channels and other community initiatives. You will bring a passion for high-quality marketing and communications programs and thrive working in a fast paced, dynamic startup environment.

Experience and Qualifications 

  • 3+ years experience in content development, community management, journalism, or similar.
  • Excellent writer with demonstrated ability to craft content for multiple audiences and on multiple platforms — site copy, emails, landing pages, and blog posts
  • Experience creating social strategy and a proven track record of successful execution of social campaigns

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing programs for community engagement; a passion for empowering our teacher community via our teacher ambassador program, teacher-focused events, and content development.
  • Comfortable storytelling across multiple mediums including on-site content, social media, video, and other channels.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, collaborate, influence and work as part of a small team.
  • Enthusiastic about learning new things and building out new skill sets within the marketing and communications function.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
