Business Development Manager - Premium Content Supply

As the Business Development team lead for this key company initiative, you will develop strategies and build partnerships that drive supply and revenue growth. You will be an integral member of a cross-functional team working with product, marketing, engineering and support with the critical responsibility of building and ensuring long term success of Quizlet’s newest revenue stream: Premium Content.
This role is a unique blend of business development, relationship management, operations and creative work. Your primary responsibility will be sourcing high-quality, educational content creators to supply Quizlet’s Premium Content marketplace. You’ll build and execute the strategy to ensure we’re bringing on board the best Suppliers in the right subject areas in order to meet existing demand. These Suppliers will range from traditional textbook publishers to teachers, tutors, and other experts in their field; you’ll understand the unique value each brings to our community of learners and put together the plan to ensure we have the right mix of offerings. You’ll use creative and scalable methods to identify these Suppliers and ensure there is consistently a robust pipeline in place.
You’ll develop and maintain a deep level of knowledge in both the education and marketplace landscapes, keeping a pulse on trends that may be relevant to Quizlet’s Premium Content business. In partnership with the Account Management team, you’ll build the playbook for ensuring our Suppliers are getting maximum value out of their partnerships with Quizlet. You’re able to analyze trends in data and can communicate those trends in an actionable way to improve Supplier’s success.
You have experience managing a holistic partnership pipeline; owning everything from identifying and sourcing new partners to the pitching and negotiation process. You’re passionate about constantly testing and iterating your process to always be improving. Building relationships comes second nature to you. You’re highly analytical and understand the importance of using data to prioritize your pipeline and Supplier outreach strategy. You have a constant pulse on Supplier needs and are able to effectively translate those needs into feedback to our Product and Engineerings teams. You’ve worked on a cross functional team before and are excited about weighing in on product and marketing related needs. You have an entrepreneurial mindset and are energized by the unknown.
- 7+ years experience in Business Development, Partnerships or Customer Success
- Experience leading supplier negotiations and contract development
- Highly analytical. You’re comfortable building models in excel
- Ability to deliver on a broad portfolio of responsibilities on your own, and ‘figure stuff out’ quickly and effectively
- Highly organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, with great follow-through on projects big and small
- High integrity individual who is enthusiastic about building a great company for the long term, and making a huge, positive impact in the world and on education
